Hey there!
I know what you're thinking: "She's gonna list the same 125 companies for making money online that I see on every website and blog". Truth is, I'm not listing that many! I want to give a brief list of the companies that I have actually tried so I can give my honest opinion. I was once that girl clicking on every link listed, hoping to instantly earn some money. I want you to know that patience is key. None of these sites will make you rich overnight, but some are a steady source of side income if you have the time.
I too was that stay at home mom at one point looking for odd jobs to do to make ends meet. I've tried quite a few things but these are the ones that I think have the best chance at making a difference.
TRANSCRIPTION - many companies and individuals are in need of transcription for their audio and video files. If you are fairly good at typing, this may work for you. There are two that I would recommend. One of which I've actually made quite a bit off of at one point in time. One I passed the test but just haven't used recently.
REV is in my opinion the easiest transcription service to work with. You can apply for either transcription, captioning, translation or all of them. Whichever you choose there will be a brief application and grammar/language quiz. Afterward you will transcribe (or caption) a sample piece about two minutes long. Hey will send you an email in about 48 hours to let you know if you have been approved or not. WEEKLY PAY through PayPal. Pay periods end Saturday around 6pm CST and paid every Monday around noon. Files range from .40 per minute up to a little over a dollar per minute. You have the ability to be elevated to "Revver+" which has access to higher paying files and earlier access before regular Revvers see them. The deadlines are pretty reasonable and the work is all done within the browser.
SCRIBIE- was another highly rated site. The testing was a bit more rigorous than rev but pay is pretty reasonable. Also weekly pay through PayPal. That test transcription gives you a practice one first which tells you what is wrong and tips on how to succeed.
SURVEYS- Specifically, POINT CLUB. I know what you're going to say. I've been there. Spammy surveys that lead you nowhere but chump change. This survey site works by points for which you can redeem gift cards, including PayPal gift cards (money). There are plenty of surveys that are valued at certain point amounts. They accumulate pretty fast, especially if you have some time to dedicate to these surveys. Some surveys you may be told you do not qualify depending on your answers but just click the next one.
REWARDS - There are two sites that pay rewards points that you can use to redeem gift cards.
One is the ever popular SWAGBUCKS which you can earn daily points, points for surveys, shopping, watching videos, mobile app activities and social media. If you spend time each day you can accumulate quite a stash.
FEATURE POINTS is based solely on the mobile phone from what I've experienced. On Feature Points, you earn points by downloading the apps listed and trying them out for up to two minutes or whichever stipulation is listed. Most apps are games and are free. The easiest way to earn on Feature Points is to invite people to use Feature Points with your special code. Whenever you do you earn half of the amount that person earns as well. Redeem PayPal gift cards and you have money!
A word about micro jobs... if you have the patience, hats off to you. I have used Click Worker, I have tried Amazon Mturk. They have pretty minimal payouts some as low as pennies. If you are a multitasking mom like me, and even if you aren't, I wouldn't recommend wasting your time. I'm all about work smart not hard. I'll share more as I find it. Be blessed!
